What I've Been Watching:

An Education
The story takes place in 1961, England. Jenny is a 16 (almost 17 yr. old schoolgirl) who is eager to enter the world as an adult. When she meets an exciting older man who introduces her to the world of jazz clubs, cigarettes, and sex she begins to question the importance of an education for women. This is a thoughtful film, sympathetically presented, with great acting and story. A Winner!

Bliss (Turkish)
A young woman is found lying on the ground, apparently molested. She won’t say who did it. Tradition demands that she be killed because she is tainted. A young cousin is given the job of killing her. He finds himself torn between following the wishes of his father, of tradition, and the more modern approach of forgiveness. Beautiful cinematography with breathtaking landscapes makes this a truly mesmerizing film.

It’s Complicated
This is a pleasant middle-aged love story starring Meryl Streep and Alec Baldwin as the ex-es who find themselves having an affair. Steve Martin is the other love interest.
