New This Week (2/26/15)

Call the library to check availability and request these new items:

Apparitions (NR)
Father Jacob is a Roman Catholic priest who examines evidence of miracles to promote candidates for sainthood. He is drawn into the domain of exorcism when he is approached for help by a young girl who believes her father is possessed. Besieged by ghastly visions, vicious murders, and demonic attacks, Father Jacob wages war against evil with the only weapons he has--faith, ritual, and prayer.

The Drop (R)
Lonely bartender Bob and his hardened employer Cousin Marv run a bar that is used as a "drop"--a covert scheme that funnels cash to local gangsters. But when they find themselves caught in a robbery gone bad, and on the hook for a debt they can't repay, both men have to make the dangerous choice between loyalty and survival.

Pride (R)
It's the summer of 1984 and much of blue-collar Great Britain is on strike. For one tiny Welsh village, the strike brings unexpected visitors--a group of London-based activists who decide to raise money to support the strikers' families and want to make their donation in person.

A Walk Among the Tombstones (R)
Matt Scudder, an ex-cop turned unlicensed private investigator, reluctantly agrees to help a heroin trafficker hunt down the men who brutally murdered his wife. When the PI learns that this is not the first time, nor will it be the last, that these men have committed this sort of twisted crime, he must blur the line between right and wrong as he races to track the deviants through the backstreets of New York City before they kill again.

The Wire (NR)
Each season of this American crime drama television series set and produced in and around Baltimore, Maryland introduces a different institution in the city of Baltimore. In chronological order they are: the illegal drug trade, the seaport system, the city government and bureaucracy, the school system, and the print news media.
