New This Week (2/10/17)

Call the library to check availability and request these new items:

King Jack (NR)
Jack is a scrappy 15-year-old kid stuck in a small, run-down town. He's got more problems than he can handle: an escalating feud with a violent older bully, a crush on a neighborhood girl, and having to go to summer school again. So when his runty younger cousin comes to stay for the weekend, the last thing Jack wants to do is look after him--but no one really cares what Jack wants.

Tower (NR)
August 1, 1966, a sniper rode the elevator to the top floor of the iconic University of Texas Tower and opened fire, holding the campus hostage for 96 minutes in what was a previously unimaginable event. Based entirely on first person testimonies from witnesses, heroes, and survivors, archival footage combined with rotoscopic animation of the dramatic day in a seamless and suspenseful retelling of the unfolding tragedy.

Under The Shadow (PG-13)
Shideh and her young daughter, Dorsa, are left alone in a war-torn city when her husband is drafted and sent to the front lines. After a dud missile strikes their apartment building, a neighbor mysteriously dies, and Dorsa's behavior becomes increasingly erratic. Shideh scoffs at her superstitious neighbor's warning that the missile might carry an ancient curse, but as the frightening occurrences in her apartment escalate, Shideh realized that the malevolent force in her home is infinitely more evil and terrifying than the missiles raining down on the city.
