New This Week (7/20/18)

Call the library to check availability and request these new items:

Dina (NR)
Dina invites her fiancé Scott to move in with her. The two are head-over-heels for one another, but shacking up poses a new challenge: Scott freezes when it comes to physical intimacy, and Dina, wants nothing more than to share with Scott all she's learned about sensual desire. Her increasingly creative forays to draw Scott close keep hitting roadblocks while they strive to reconcile their conflicting approaches to romance and intimacy.

Faces Places (PG)
Varda and JR share a lifelong passion for images and how they are created, displayed, and shared. Together they travel around France meeting locals, learning their stories, and producing epic-size portraits of them. The photos are prominently displayed on houses, barns, storefronts, and trains revealing the humanity in their subjects, and themselves.

Hannibal In The Alps (NR)
Hannibal, one of history's most famous generals, achieved what the Romans thought to be impossible. With a vast army of 30,000 troops, 15,000 horses, and 37 war elephants, he crossed the mighty Alps in only 16 days to launch an attack on Rome from the north. In Hannibal in the Alps, a team of experts conclusively proves for the first time that Hannibal's army did indeed cross the Alps.

I, Daniel Blake (NR)
After a heart attack leaves him unable to hold a job, the widowed carpenter Daniel Blake begins a long, lonely journey through the Kafka-esque labyrinth of the local welfare state. Along the way, he strikes up a friendship with a single mother and her two children, at the mercy of the same system after being evicted from their home.

Jungle (R)
An enthusiastic young adventurer follows his dreams into the Amazon jungle with two friends and a guide with a mysterious past. Their journey quickly turns into a terrifying ordeal as the darkest elements of human nature and the deadliest threats of the wilderness lead to an all-out fight for survival.

The Lovers (R)
Mary and Michael, a long-married, dispassionate wife and husband are on the verge of calling it quits, when a spark unexpectedly reignites, sweeping them into an impulsive and surprising "new" romance.
